Latest Outlander Casting Video

There are literally hundreds of Youtube videos with some excellent ideas for casting the movie slash mini series of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books. After watching them all (I have nothing better to do) I am positive that this one is my favourite!

Enjoy and please refrain from eating or drinking whilst watching unless you want to decorate your keyboard!

I found this article saying a movie WAS in process, slated for 2011 - http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/diana-gabaldons-outlander-headed-to-the-big-screen/

Obviously nothing came of it, but does anyone have any updates?

"Outlander" and its sequels are amongst the most wonderful books I have ever read. An emotional roller-coaster, they make you laugh and cry, and wish they would never end! Honestly, I do not understand how anyone cannot like those extraordinary books. Some nit-picking reviewers seem to disapprove of them for their graphic descriptions of torture and brutality, or their occasional focus on sex and romance. Well, how prudish can you get? I actually cherish them for their very outspokenness. After all, it would be absurd to write about history and simply ignore some of its more unpleasant aspects for the sake of a minority of squeamish readers... As to descriptions of sex, I find them quite outstanding and not too explicit, either. Frankly, how can you find fault with something like four or five of such scenes in a book that contains around 1,000 pages? In my mind, they just add the right amount of spice to the story, and it would be impossible to do without them. I just love Diana Gabaldon's dry, sometimes slightly cynical, but humorous and perceptive style. She has definitely written some of the most heart-wrenching scenes in literature, as well. Claire and Jamie's story is unforgettable and keeps haunting me for days after I have finished a book of the series. Every now and then, I have to remind myself that they are only ficticious characters, which proves how life-like and realistic their portrayal is. Thank you, Diana Gabaldon, for an amazing reading experience, for the laughter and the tears, for the warm feeling that goes along with reading a truly wonderful story, and the tinge of sadness that comes when finishing an absolutely perfect book!

Ever since I started the series I've been thinking about who would best portray ”Jamie” if a movie was made. After many nights of restlessness (lol) it hit me... Chris Hemsworth! Check him out in ”Thor” (2011) or ” Snow White and the Huntsman”. He's Australian but his accent is very sexy and I'm sure he'll be able to pull off the Scottish accent. So you can see I've done my research. Best series ever!!!
