There are Jamie Frasers everywhere these days?

I have a confession to make! I have been neglecting my Outlander Movie blog for a while now as I've been doing other (non-outlander) things. However, in the last week I've added a tumblr blog to my online acquisitions which is based around Outlander Inspired Photographs. It's basically ... well ...photographs with Outlander themes such as Scottish scenery, the odd casting call and bowls of porridge so feel free to pop on over and take a look :-)

I have however come across a few possible candidates for Jamie which I feel are fairly good. Jason Lewis has been mentioned a few times now but I haven't really been paying too much attention.  I would like to wax poetical about him but I haven't seen any of his acting and I have to admit that I hadn't even heard of him until someone recommended him as Jamie.

Being an American (and me knowing nothing of his acting skills) he may or may not be talented enough to pull off a Scottish accent but he certainly ticks all the other boxes.

Yes, he would be good. He played Smith Jerrod on Sex and the City. Smith was an actor and was on location where he was cast as a viking. I could see him as Jamie, although I have leaned toward Chris Hemsworth.

I wish they should make a movie for every book - like they did with Harry Potter.

They should totally make a movie out of every book! They are doing it with Narnia, and also Game of Thrones (miniseries, but still!!!).
Jason Lewis is okay looking, but I found some of his acting on Sex and the City to be less than stellar. If they are going ot make a movie...choose someone with acting skills! :)

No woman who has read this series will ever agree on how should play Jamie Fraser. We all have a different idea of what Jamie Fraser should look like, and I believe this is where the trouble will lie in getting a movie, or even a mini series started.

No please, this guy is attractive but he could never pull of the acting- I too have been trying to see who could play the part. TBA...

I read the books many years ago and always thought the Heath Ledger would make a great Jamie. I can't seem to picture anyone else!

Yeah but I guess casting Heath Ledger as Jamie could become a bit difficult... ;)

I adored Heath Ledger and he would have been fantastic as Jamie even though he wasn't very much like him physically. Sometimes brilliant acting skills are far more important than an ideal match facially and I can't shake the idea of Christian Bale or someone of that ilk playing Jamie because they would be able to "become" the character.

Judging by the comments on here I may pass on Jason Lewis as his reputation as an actor doesn't seen that good. (I've never seen him actually act)

I couldn't love Jamie Frasure more. The book took off a little slow, but it peaked my interest enough to want to finish. I think the story line was loose; seriously, did the feminine John Grey really think he could MAKE someone cross Ireland with prison time promised(?!), but the story between Jamie and John make the book worth the read. It made me understand why they are best of friends in the Outlander series.

Kevin McKidd from Greys Anatomy is actually a Scot and has red hair. As soon as I saw him I thought he'd be a perfect Jamie Fraser!

Kevin McKidd would be a decent choice for the older Jamie but he's 39 and looks his age. I can't see any amount of make up and special effects making him look like a 23 year old virgin!

I just saw Chris Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsman and all I could think of was that he would be perfect as Jamie Fraser.

OMG, I totally agree with you!
I already though about this, Jason Lewis as Jamie

Kris Holden-Reid is my ideal for Jamie at present.
