Other Great Time Travel Book!

I'm sure that you'll agree with me when I say that Diana Gabaldon's books are the best time travel books ever written!  However, that isn't to say that there aren't many other excellent books emcompasing time travel that are well worth reading.  I've decided to create a Time Travel Books "mini-blog!" which has links to some of the most popular books on the market which are based on the subject of time travel.

If you have any other suggestions and recommendations please let me know and I'll include them!

Good News and Bad News!

The good news is that the postman finally delivered my copy of Down These Strange Streets!  I've started reading "Lord John and the Plague of Zombies" but I've put it down (how good am I?) because I'm waiting until I'm not disturbed by screaming kids and barking dogs.  I have no idea when that'll be but hopefully tonight after the fireworks stop I'll have a little bit of peace and quiet.

The bad news though is a little worrying, to me at least, I can't pre-order Scottish Prisoner for my new Kindle! I think it's because I'm in the UK and hopefully it'll be alright on the night and I'll be able to download it on the 29th.  Has anyone else from the UK had the same problem out of curiosity?

For those of you who celebrate Bonfire Night I hope everyone has a really fun and safe night.  Is it just my imagination or does this cartoon of Guy Fawkes look way too happy to say he's actually on fire? He only looks mildly startled!

Do you want to start reading Scottish Prisoner Now?

As I'm writing this there are only 25 days to go until the release of Diana Gabaldon's newest book "The Scottish Prisoner"!  It has come to my notice via My Outlander Purgatory that Random House has released the first 19 pages of the book onliine as a kind of preview.

Now I have been very strong and resisted reading any further spoilers over the last few weeks as I "thought" I could wait until the end of the month but I'm afraid I'm about to resort to loosing my willpower!  I've not actually read the whole excerpt just yet but I think most of it has already been made public with various spoilers which Diana has shared since she began writing it. Somehow it's more exciting when we aren't guessing what order everything comes in.

Happy Reading!

Down These Strange Streets The Postman Doesn't Cometh!

My intentions were to write a little about the new Diana Gabaldon story "Lord John and the Plague of Zombies" but it ain't going to happen just yet!  The reason is that whilst I have purchased a copy of the said book from ebay I am still sitting waiting (not so) patiently for the postman to deliver it.  I'm trying to give the ebay seller the benefit of the doubt but it doesn't really take a week for it to wing it's way to me and I'm beginning to worry.

Firstly he has a very recent negative comment to his name and secondly the book went for a pittance when all the other copies on ebay are selling for treble that.  I think he's planning on pulling a fast one to try to get more money for it which isn't fair and is really annoying.  If he wanted more money why the hell didn't he start the bidding higher?

I'm trying not to panic but I want to read it NOW!

We'll see what tomorrow brings and if it does arrive I'll apologise to the seller and give him glowing feedback but if not I'm on the war path!
